But she ain gotta shoot down thanksgiving dinner though :mjcry: "...where dey do dat at?" :damn:
Bruh my moms has never thrown down ever. I be seeing nikkaz instagram sunday meals and bringing amazing left over to work looking like :mjcry:

My dad ruined her by getting her maids when we was younger. She never had to be in the kitchen like that. As we got older living in the west without people to cook she ain't never pick up the apron :mjlol:

I'm telling you if you've had any amount of years of good home cooked meals you blessed.

When I win I bring we with me

Sounds like she has more disposable income and is trying to enjoy the rest of her life.

:jbhmm:
Yeah she did it reverse to what a lot of folks do today.
  • Got married early 20s with a lil college edu
  • Both got a jobs at AT&T
  • Parents settled in got a house and 4 kids
  • She went back to school when youngest two children(me and younger sister) where high/middle school aged.
  • Got promoted to some HR management gig
  • "Ballin outta control" after that...(This is when the changes spoken of in the OP began)

You know these days folks want to wait until everything is "lined up" then focus on family.:francis::yeshrug:
So she got 2X boost in disposable income, with no kids, and extra income ...back to back within a couple years.
(Great for her of course, but unfortunately for me, all culminating in the current predicament)

OP...

My guess is that your mom simply doesn't want to cook Thanksgiving dinner this year. Maybe she doesn't want to do it anymore which is understandable. Thanksgiving dinner is a lot of work! Based on what you shared, it seems like your mom wants to kick back and enjoy life.

What she is doing is preparing your to do yiur own thing and not expect or rely on her to feed you during the holidays.

There are a lot of people who don't cook or can't cook Thanksgiving dinner and resort to going over family or friends house or they may go to a restaurant the day of or order from a spot a day or two before Turkey day or may take a trip somewhere and eat there.

You will be alright. Just make new plans for that day and keep it moving..

Death
Wow.
I don't even entertain going to anyones house for thanksgiving.
I like my freedom, peace and quiet.
We do our own thanksgiving at our house.
See family at the next funeral.

You could pull up at someone’s house and ask to purchase a plate or there are restaurant that serve plates for TG

My mother is far from perfect but I appreciate everything she does, thing is she’s from the suburbs so she cooks like a cac :francis:
