While the 14-year-old enduring the beating, his three siblings, a 5-month old, and a 4- and 6-year-old, were present. The teen’s stepfather was also present during the beating, but did nothing to stop it, according to court documents.


The stepfather told officers that he didn’t intervene with the teen’s previous beatings because the child is not his and he felt it wasn’t his place, saying it was best to mind his own business in “these situations,” court documents say.

The 14-year-old boy came to his mother’s home in August of 2024 for a visit, but she did not return him to his aunt, who is his legal guardian.

In 1984 my mother beat and tortured me for an entire day when I was 6, because she was out of crack and she wanted the $5 dollars my dad had given me the day before. I had hid it so she couldn't get to it and she did some unspeakable shyt to me that day. I pretty much hated her from then on. My dad was in the game, so he had my granny come take my sister and I to live with her. Even till the day my mother died she never apologized and never acknowledged what she did that day. And I never forgave her. I feel like she would've killed us had we not got rescued. I have never raised a hand to my children and never will.
