Tampons cause toxic shock due to the chemicals they are dipped in. E.i allergic reaction, then infection.
Toxic shock isn’t cause from being unclean or simply leaving a tampon In too long.(although thei is one of the ways)
I see people referenced Tiffany Haddish she didn’t get toxic shock from keeping hers in too long she got it due to having and over sized (super tampon) and she had a reaction to the chemicals used to make it.

People can probably have allergic reactions to tampons but i don't think it would result in an infection, maybe anaphylaxis.
