As a lyricist? Let's say his prime was 1995-1998, which of these MCS was he better than lyrically?

Jay, Nas, Biggie, AZ, Redman, Rakim, G Rap, GZA, Ras Kass, Big Punisher, Canibus, Common, Posdonus, Black Thought, Big L, I can keep going

Again, Prodigy was a great Mc (he was a better MC than half that list) but I'm talking straight lyrical ability...
I got you. If you just want to go pure technical rhyming ability, then there were cats better than P. But as an MC. Top 5.

All GREAT rappers, but I would put P's run (as a lyricist or MC) over 90% of this list, if not more. Just my opinion though.

Lyrically he was better than several of those guys IMO, lyricism isn't just about rhyming. The shyt P was saying was just unheard of to me and his best verses can hang with any of those guys best verses. :manny:

the thing that seperated p from everyone else to me was that he would go in depth on a rhyme. he wasn't just telling you that he was going to slice your neck. he was telling you what he was going to use and how/when he was going to do it. he had a kool g rap esque story telling thing going on for him

Right. To me, P's imagery was just outlandish and damn near unrivaled. And he has some of the most memorable rap verses of all time.

Stabbing your brain with your nose bone and having nikkas attack you in herds is classic Prodigy imagery :pachaha:
P was talking about nikkas solar plexus, corneas, about giving nikkas 22 slugs from they head all the way down to they leg, cutting nikkas to the point they had to spend 20 G's on stitches and cracking nikkas skeletons unheard of shyt :mindblown:

The Flyest
These old sessions got some serious quotables, plus some of the new stuff (Murdera) is nice.

"Started from the bottom, went further than I planned to"

"Before my eyes, another part of my team dies/
i can still hear his voice while he up in the skies/
while the rest still living telling me lies"
:wow:

"Do a drive-by in a stolen black Pinto, with tinted windows/
bullets'll flurry through your system'/
your man ran, lucky for him, because we missed him
we'll catch him on the rebound"
