THIS is what you get when you give men all the power and structure your whole culture around treating women as a liability.
Over there women's only use to the family is to get married to a man with money. If a man does propose the family now has to literally PAY his family to take that daughter off their hands. What you end up with is parents that kill their babies if they're female and keep trying for a male child.
The result is a population bottleneck where there are 107-109 males for every 100 females.
Now you might be thinking: "does that mean there are several million men walking around who will rarely see a woman in person who isn't married or related to them?" Well you would be 100% correct. Thats how you end up with scenes like this. That country needs to experience a cultural shift but chances are they're going to have a civil war because of the Hindu fascist movement growing there. If that happens its going to cull the male population by a significant margin and make females more socially valuable. Women saw a huge boost in their civil rights here after the 2 world wars killed millions of men. The society had to adjust. Same thing will happen to India and it'll either be in a civil war, or it'll be when things finally boil to a head over the kashmir territory. Pakistan and India are both nuclear armed nations. If they fight, over 30 million people could die. To tell you how crazy of a number that is, imagine if you drove through 2 or 3 states and nobody was there. It was just a wasteland that goes on for days and days.
