I don't follow nobody's script. I just know what works for me. Time permitting I will do from 45 - 60 minutes on an elliptical before working out. I don't do any of that zone shyt. I'm pretty much keep my heart rate at 80% the whole time. I remember reading that you can keep it at 65% or some sh!t. I dunno man that shyt makes me feel nothing. I just like working up a great sweat before weights. I have learned to eat fruits right before working out, because my diet would make me feel like my blood sugar was low. Also I'm big on hyper hydrating. I'll have anywhere from 1 to 1 1/2 liters of water before going.
