to the earthquakes fans. there til the end
@concise yeah, more of a photo op thing. theres rage all around, the ny fans who made the trip, the dc fans who made the trip () and waiting so long to make a decision.
these fools had like 20 guys with shovels, guys in dress shoes slipping, clearing the pitch, they reached the other side and the field was filled up with snow again.
they said the snow would stick to the ball or something so it couldnt go on
“With those conditions, you can’t play football,” Backe said, after the decision. “It’s a different sport. You can’t see the lines. It would be complete luck.”
Meanwhile, down the corridor, Olsen was complaining in more macho fashion that his guys were quite prepared to battle both the higher-profile Red Bulls and the snowflakes.
“Have you seen the field? It looks fine to me,” insisted Olsen, willfully ignoring reality. “I’m baffled we can’t play this game. It wouldn’t be pretty, but the game’s gotta go on. My boys wanted to play.”
