Soccer only survives in American regions with hipsters and gentrification like NYC and Portland. This team will fail for the same reason Atlanta hockey failed.

Atlanta does have a pretty hefty international presence. They might be able to sustain themselves on the Middle Eastern, Caribbean and Hispanic population that's there. Much more marketable in Atlanta than Hockey.

Not really. I live in one of the biggest cities in North America and everyone here thinks Atlanta is basically Alabama. People who don't watch football literally have no idea what kind of city Atlanta is. That aside, I'm Carribean and we don't pay to watch soccer. So the Carribean population is not going to truly support the team. If Atlanta ever becomes international, you won't be able to live there.

So you live in another city but you are telling someone that lives here that there isn't an international community?

Dude... I actually live here. I think I'd have a decent idea of who is here. And regarding the Caribbean population... I'm Guyanese. So yea, I have a good idea about the Caribbean community too.

Well, gentrification is taking place in ATL as well. They may not ever completely eliminate the black presence in ATL, they'll subdue its influence and power..... or at least they'll try.

Time will tell....

I'm a AA that loves world football. I would be a season ticket holder if I lived in Atlanta. I wouldn't invest any money in the Falcons, the Hawks or any other pro franchise.
