They made him seem so helpless, especially in contrast to how they used to teach us about Robert E. Lee and the rest of those cac heroes (Im from South Carolina, so the Confederates are lowkey painted as sympathetic figures in schools

When I was younger, I started tuning out during Black History month at school because he was the only topic and I was turned off because it was like,
"They're throwing bricks, fight back!!!
"
I appreciate him way more as an adult after doing my due diligence
