MK II isn't even the best in it's own series. That title belongs to MK9.

Consensus top 3 should be MK2, MK9 and MKX.

MKX is the most refined and corrected game, but removed a lot of the mechanics that made MK9 the most enjoyable game to date.

MK2 is more simplistic than the other two but it's just an amazing game. Perfect roster. Classic fatalities, costumes, control scheme etc.

Lol, MK2 is not superior to the entire SF series. Imo, MK9 is the best title in the MK series. After that its all up for debate imo. Personally, I thought MKX was trash and wouldn't even rank it over MKDA, let alone top 3. I disliked the cast in MKX, Story mode, variation system, run system, universal armored launchers, and I loathed that the staple of MKX meta was explosive mobility into 50/50s that lead to brutal oki. I preferred MK9 meta way over MKX.

MKX technically speaking is the best game made. MK9 suffered from many bugs/glitches that were rectified in MKX. That said, I agree that the 50/50s and the run mechanic destroyed the beautiful footsie game that existed in MK9.

Variations isn't bad but I'd stick to 2 variations max. If variations didn't exist I wouldn't mind either. But MKX is obviously better than any 3D game.

Plus I think with armoured launchers they patched it so that you had to burn 2 bars of meter to launch e.g. Mileena's EX roll.

MK9 was basically Trilogy HD.

About 90% of the cast in Trilogy is in MK9

They're pretty close, but robot smoke > cyber sub
And griefing people with boss characters is GOAT
Can't forget about C/Khameleon

Also Rain and Reptile look like shyt now, and Quan Chi is a hoe ass nikka.
