Who cares? This is America. We're a capitalist nation, no? So now we're saying that the ultimate result of capitalism, extravagant wealth, is a sign that a man is going to be a bad leader?

:what:

Hes the benefactor of a system thats rigged for folks like him. Its clear in his gross lapses in understandings of normal people/life.

What value of leadership can u find in a guy who was born privileged, has decimated companies + outsourced American jobs, is a Mormon and has had absolutely no interaction with normal folks for the first 60 something years of his life? Esp in the midst of a recession damn near killing the avg American? This guy is gonna turn the US into a corporation serving his shareholder homies.

It's a sign he can't relate to the average person. I'm not saying that's always the case but well in this case...

Lets be honest, brehs. NONE of these politicians are in our tax bracket. And to be frank, I disagree that being wealthy puts him in an "untouchable, out of reach place with regards to the average citizen". That comes simply with any office of state. These guys, regardless of wealth, aren't getting traffic tickets. They aren't dealing with HOA bullshyt, they aren't shocked when the price of the Whopper (:noah:) hits $4.00, and it's not because he's a billionaire. It's because he's in a different class afforded by his office. My point is, yes, they don't understand the struggles that you and I deal with, but that line is not made blurry at the multi-millionaire (which most politicians are) ---> to billionaire transition.

I hear what ya'll are saying, but to me, I just don't give a fukk that he's a billionaire. Good for him. I hope I can make it there someday too.

Whether or not I vote for him is a different matter tho.

If we're being honest, and ignoring the fact that the quote is taken out of context :comeon:; there's not a politician in America who cares about the poor. The poor don't vote and the poor don't pay taxes, so why would politicians pander to them? Not saying it's right, but we're talking about politics here so :yeshrug:.

I just think breh, is even more so out of touch with reality than most politicians.:hula:

A good example of this is cookiegate: Mitt Romney's Newest Mini-Headache: 'Cookiegate' | NewsFeed | TIME.com

A normal politician wouldn't have snubbed his face at this local bakery's cookies :scusthov:. That's like a slap in the face to all these small business owners :dwillhuh:. Which leads you to infer he won't think twice about how certain policies could potentially affect /harm small businesses..

1. Romney likes to fire people, New Hampshire, January 2012:

“I like being able to fire people.....”

2. Romney’s idea of relating to unemployed Floridians, June 2011.

“I should tell my story. I’m also unemployed.”

3. Romney defends low corporate taxes in Iowa, August 2011.

“Corporations are people, my friend.”

4. Romney’s response when asked why he wouldn’t raise the cap on Social Security taxes, or promise not to cut Medicare benefits, Iowa, August 2011:

5. Romney in a GOP primary debate, October 2011, whose own tax plan is heavily weighted to benefit the very rich:

“If I’m going to use precious dollars to reduce taxes, I want to focus on where the people are hurting the most, and that’s the middle class. I’m not worried about rich people.”

6. Romney stands for corporate greed, January 2012:

8. Romney slaps down notion of higher taxes on the rich, proceeds to lie about how his tax plan helps the middle class, quotes Margaret Thatcher, January 2012:

“The best way that I can help middle income Americans is to become president of the United States, to cut taxes for middle income Americans, which is what my proposal does [Romney’s tax plan does virtually nothing for the middle class].

I know that there are some who say, ‘Let’s just get more money from the higher-income people, let’s just tax them some more,’ and I understand that’s popular in a lot of people’s minds. But just don’t forget that old Margaret Thatcher line, ‘Sooner or later you run out of other people’s money.’ ”

9. Romney lies when he claims during a debate that he is not a career politician (he’s been running for one office or another since the 1990s), January 2012:

“This for me, politics, is not a career.”

10. Romney employs a popular GOP dog whistle, implying that he would do away with the welfare system, RNC convention speech, 2008:

“It’s time to stop the spread of government dependency and fight it like the poison it is.”
