What other profession is dominated by people in their 70s though? All these people only stay in politics, while everyone else bows out, because politicians are addicted to the power.

Growing up my family's home church was First AME in LA. In the early 2000s they forced Rev. Dr. Cecil Murray to resign because he had reached the age in which the AME structure dictated a bishop/pastor/reverend had to retire (75) and this was nearly 20 years ago.

4 years ago he officiated my grandmother's funeral and spoke with the exact same clarity and conviction as he did as a reverend when I was a child. He's currently 94 and STILL eloquent, coherent and appears to be "all there" mentally from what I've witnessed. But even with all that he understood it was time for him to step down so he did so with grace, dignity and the ability to take on a smaller role as a personal spiritual advisor, funeral officiant, etc.

Why the fukk is the AME Church acting with more common sense than the US Gov and why are elderly American politicians not more ashamed of having several mini strokes in front of the of the entire world on live TV??

Nobody over 70 should hold any kind of public office. And I'm not saying they should be summarily executed, but they need to take on the role of advisor/consultant rather than holding a position of power.
