All of the "they're too damn old" politicians from the 2010s are looking really awkwardly, uncomfortably old now. Like definitely not healthy, body-is-running-out-of-resources-and-beginning-to-consume-itself old. Yet they're all either still in power or running for office again.

We really, really need to have a cap of 70 as the age of people in higher office. If they're older than that they can be advisors, but they have to step down and let the next generation take the lead. The country is in the hands of people who were educated 60 years ago, who know they aren't even going to have to live with the results of their actions, and who are clearly working from a position of mental decline. WTF?

I would put the cap at 80. RBG died at 87. McConnell is 81. Sanders is 81. Biden is 80. Trump is 77. Feinstein is 90 and she been gone.

What other profession is dominated by people in their 70s though? All these people only stay in politics, while everyone else bows out, because politicians are addicted to the power.

Obama should have had a different running mate for his 2nd term so he could elevate a younger leader, he didn't need the experience argument anymore. Why should a single mediocre white man like Biden have so much control over American politics for 50 years, or even 40 years? McConnell should have been gone years earlier. Pelosi was only blocking new talent by staying in place.

How about this - you can't run for reelection once you hit 75. That's my compromise.

CEOs, Boardmembers.

CEOs aren't dominated by people in their 70s though. That primarily only happens when someone owns their own company. Actual competitive positions, hardly anyone is looking for a 72 year old to hire.

Board members can be a mix, but that isn't a profession, they're closer to advisors than actually running things.
