Van Gundy hasn't coached in a decade and now he going to jump in and play a part in turning a franchise around? Dude is an entertaining personality and commentator but...come on now...

Thibs got one MVP season out of Rose and turned that into a trip to the WCF...and then did not get anymore MVP seasons out of Derrick Rose and he did not make anymore trips to the WCF...

:mjlol: at both of these dudes trying to latch on to a team loaded with potential...it really shouldn't be that hard to build around a budding 2 way star, a big man with GOAT level potential, and a human highlight reel...

Funny how the one thing the Wolves knew they were going to do was relieve Sam Mitchell of his duties though:mjpls:

the key is to get rid of Rubio
I don't think that's the "key" his jumper was falling the second half of the season, which was his major drawback. It's still not where it needs to be though. Would I prefer an upgrade at PG? Sure.. But I don't think just getting rid of Rubio will automatically be addition by subtraction

@tremonthustler1 I'm a lifelong Pittsburgh Pirates fan as well.. I have spent years in the spot you're in (apathy) until Andrew McCutchen and a few of those other boys came along and made us contenders again. We haven't won a WS yet or anything but we've been in the discussion the past few years. I think regardless of who our owner is, KAT can be our McCutchen

I'm not mad at Thibs for wanting full control...I don't think I give it to him though...He's a great on court coach however...

Only guy to successfully pull off full control has been Pop and he started off in the front office and has a great organization around him. I don't see much proof that a guy can handle both roles well. Not to mention the fact that coaches want to win every game while GMs are supposed to also build for the future. I can see a guy like Thibs trading our lotto pick for some decent vet who can help right now instead of another young guy who could be really good in 3 years

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
I heard he wanted Draymond Green in the 2nd round when the Bulls went with Jeff Teague's brother.
Former Bulls assistant coach Ron Adams and recently fired head coach Tom Thibodeau both wanted Green; however, they were unable to convince management that the Michigan State Spartan was the right fit. That might have been just another reason why Thibs and Adams were never a great match with Bulls management.
