and for anyone trying to gaslight supporters of these protests in regards to their methods, just remember those hong kong protests weren't entirely peaceful either.
Whose "we".... Most of my family is from there. Elderly family. My perspective is more on sadness at the chaos, You guys are free to celebrate it. No one is telling you not to celebrate. Yippeeee!
I’ve never heard MLK say this, but this has been a constant discussion. Especially in my family. My grandparents and great grandparents have mentioned that integration did do a lot more harm than good. It’s hard to look at that from a face surface standpoint but it makes a lot of sense when you dig deeper.
Let me tell you a story. It began a brisk September's morning, 2001...He’s clearly talking about Americans.
he’s not talkin about what goes on with arab cacs in the Middle East
He was talking about American citizens not al quedaLet me tell you a story. It began a brisk September's morning, 2001...
It basically is.
I'm talking about the neighborhood and who shops there. That is the Target where majority black folks most likely get their medicine from the pharmacy or essential groceries everyday. shyt is gone now. Along with the jobs of those who worked there.
While Karen uptown still strolling down to her local Target that's still open with not a single broken glass in sight. No disruption to her everyday life.
You will command way more attention destroying those businesses in those neighborhoods
Cops were basically because it was a black neighborhood. The response would've been way different had they fukked shyt up in the white neighborhoods.
Which store you think Target Corp would be more concerned about burning down?

I hate when people don't think. Damaging minority owned businesses is makes no sense
Facts, nikkas love cheering from the sidelines but if this was happening in their backyard they'd be
I know these places have insurance but how is burning down essential stores and businesses in the height of a global pandemic a smart move
Also, After the riots here in Baltimore all the corporate chains came back but the Black owned businesses DID NOT
Anyone who's actually paid attention to the protests know that they aren't peaceful. They've even torched some of their own fellow protesters. They're not standing there getting their asses kicked. Some of us have said in the threads that they're lucky that Beijing hasn't sent the army there to regulate things or it would really get out of hand.
This makes me think. MLK said he thinks his fight for integration may have done more damage to the black community than good. Do you all agree? Maybe we should’ve been more focus on building for self instead of trying to occupy white spaces.
