Ehhh. it might not have been socially mainstream but everyone still looked at it, especially men. it just wasn't spoken about. people always try to act like in the past people were more prude and refined but it just isn't true. people are just more honest and open now.

I see you're not getting my point, but I'll let you cook like people were just out in the open including me about porn and liking it.

it was tougher to survive in the 70s and 80s. look at the unemployment rates, oil shocks. etc

I disagree, most of my Baby Boomer counterparts including my parents can't relate to me because of my struggles. I'm not privileged and my parents weren't rich, but struggling isn't something they've experienced. My dad was laid off briefly during the Reagan years, but got his job back in no time. I struggle just finding a minimum wage job just to get by. I also had to get on unemployment as well and I had to grow up as a young adult during Bush's years.

Baby Boomers didn't have it bad.

depends on what definition they're using. In One, people Born prior to 82 are considered Gen Y and not millenials. If they're using the broader term then you are absolutely correct. :ehh:

Generation Y and Millenials are essentially the same thing, just different terms. I prefer being called a Generation Yer because I don't relate to the millennium.:scust:

there was a different name used in one of those old ass almanacs i used to read as a kid. I cant remember it off hand but it said something about the prior generation ending 2 years after the start of next decade or something like that.

Waits for you know who to come in here and defend millennials per usual :troll:
I take this as a shot at me, but to the contrary, I don't know what millennials are. I just know what they're not and fight back against ridiculous critiques. It's kind of hard to categorize the most diverse generation in American history. And the most progressive. For example, I think millennials are dope in that people don't have to be a "super thug" to be credible, but overall, our taste in music is trash. People listen to music selfishly. It's like if it relates to them or is familiar it doesn't matter if it's actually good. People make lyrics for snapchat and instagram quotes now. There's also the need to seek validation all the time online, but that's a byproduct of how things have been marketed to them. As a matter of fact, every negative about millennials even "participation trophies" and bullshyt like that can be attributed to parents not being able to handle little Jimmy not being Kobe.

I never understood the whole identifying with a generation thing. I'm a technically a "millennial" but I've never really thought about it like that. Me and my friends have never had discussions on "our" generation or comparing ourselves to "baby boomers" or "generation X" etc

I miss the so called "super thug" era because it wasn't all these fake weirdos prancing around in tight ass shyt looking like gay Europeans and the culture wasn't completely vapid of any real substance. People always down Gangsta rap but well done shyt like that was far better than the pretentious decadent snobbish bullshyt we're left with today. Scarface or Pac had way more to say to me as a Black man than any of the new acts today that supposedly represent my generation. fukk that fashionista shyt Kanye on, I don't give a fukk about drakes relationship issues with ig thots, these artists today either have no capability at all of speaking to the people or they do it in an extra corny way to be palatable to white consumers.

I salute all the thug nikkaz that paved the way for people like me to live by codes and ethics and not be on some laisse faire, everyone-gets-a-gold-star-don't-be-a-hater type goofy foofy bullshyt. It's all about your merits and we don't give a fukk about that anymore. It's always crazy to see what my generation became but I'm just glad me and my nikkaz stayed true for the most part. Y'all can have this extra strength soft shyt. :ld:
