The whole world? Come on breh, his biggest fight with the most buys (2.4 million views) aren't even the same number of viewers that watch the All Star game (7 million) last year when Kobe yelled at LeBron:childplease:

Lets use some logic. Boxing is an inclusive sport. You've got to shell out $50+ to watch the fights. Plus boxers only fight maybe once or twice a year. To top it all off, they don't have large endorsement deals because companies know that it's useless to use boxers because they don't generate enough Q rating amongst the general public.

Basketball players, meanwhile play 82 games in the regular season, viewed nightly by more people on average that watched Floyd's biggest fight. Playoffs have even bigger ratings. They have large endorsement deals because their Q rating is high amongst the general public. They're more recognizable plain and simple.

So no, they're not even.

Two different kind of sports, let's say Sunday's ASG does 7 million views and Floyd's May 4th fight does 2 million.

Yeah Kobe's event got more views but those fans are tuned in to see LeBron, KD, Westbrook, D-Wade, and other stars. Floyd's 2 million views are people tuning into to see Floyd himself. Yeah more people watched Kobe's event but he's not the sole reason for those 7 million, Floyd is generally 60% of the reason why people decided to pay $60 for a fight (deciding on the opponent of course. DLH, Cotto, Hatton all had huge fanbases too), not to mention all the people that watched it at bars, online, etc.

Floyd's drawing potential really should let you know that Floyd is just as popular as Kobe is. You talk about Kobe's Q rating but I can easily show you Floyd's drawing potential as why he has just as big if not bigger visibility than Kobe. Floyd can not fight for 2 whole years come back and millions of people will flock to watch his fight (see the fight against J.M Marquez).

Not too mention Floyd also has a global fanbase as well when PPV buys are calculated that's mostly just US figures. His fights with Hatton (England), Marquez, Ortiz, De La Hoya (Mexico), Cotto (Puerto Rico) Baldomir (Argentina) have given him international visibility. He's got fans from all over and not only fans he has people that pay money and watch him cause they hate his black ass.

In the UK and West Africa, b'ball players are largely only known through endorsements. Like literally, nobody watches basketball like that.

In the UK at least.. Floyd >>>>>>> Kobe >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LeBron

But like I said, boxing is very popular in the UK. The country was hype when Floyd faced Hatton.

I don't know how anyone can say b'ball is a truly global sport when 95% of the players from the best league are American.

Doesn't that say something?

I have never seen a basketball match being shown in any pub in Europe.

Lol@being outside a pub and the board showing "Denver bullies vs las Vegas starship troopers".

The average englushman has no clue of the rules of basketball.

It's hurts Americans, but that sport is local and until the coli smily, I'd heard of Jordan's name/trainer, but couldn't pick him out if a line up.

Tyson on the other hand......

You're from UK for God's sake, y'all dont even know what a basketball look like there, but cricket :rudy: is a big draw. Y'all dont even knew what Eurobasket was, the biggest euro competition outside of euro/soccer.

China and it's population alone makes Kobe more known than Tyson.:heh:

Everyone can accept Soccer is #1 in the world. The greatest players range from Ivory Coast, Sweden, Brazil, Italy, Ghana, Argentina, France wherever. You look at track & field, the whole world is represented by the field.

Even Formula 1 & Golf the field is diverse and representative of countries that care. Look at the Premier League or La Liga.

If a country cares about a sport, they will develop real stars. That's obvious right?

In Greece/Turkey basketball is bigger than boxing I can accept. Probably Spain too.

I know for a fact, boxing is bigger than basketball in Germany and everything of there in Europe.
