Gary torched Murphy yesterday along the same lines when he was on with Joe and Evan. Joe said it almost sounded personal
Yeah Gary called him a net negative. lol

I like the guy a lot but we can't just keep everybody. He'll probably get a 4-5 year deal for like 13-15 million per. He'll be fine and the Mets will be fine to.

I would bet he will stay in NY, he is a great fit for the Yanks.

Worst thing teams do is make emotional/in the moment signings. People have gotten big contracts based off a playoff run which is absurd.

162 performance >>>>>>>>>>>>> a short playoff run that can fluctuate any year because of how small a window of games it is

Murphy is a slightly above average player who's only real talent is he has a good batting average. His power is minimal, his defense is terrible and his baserunning is typically poor.

Plus Tony is starting to get to that old curmudgeon, get off my lawn phase. I love tony but I find some of the stuff he says annoying now. Evan and JJ clearly got next. They clearly have plans for JJ since he's stuck around so long after the Fantasy Phenom year.
Tony is terrible.

Murph is a 2 WAR player who will be 31 next year; can play 3B, and won't command major money. I've been saying since September, pass on Cespedes, then extend Murph and sign Colby Rasmus(lefty platoon in CF).

4/60 mil for Murph isn't bad at all, hell do a 3 year/54 mil deal with a 4 yr option(10 mil buyout)

2 rWAR is not good really, it's okay. 1 rWAR is worth roughly 5 million. He's worth 10 million a year not 15.

2/20 or 3/30 is reasonable. Anything much more than that is an overpay.

Chase Hadley got 4/52 mil from the yankees. He's not worth any more than that. Probably less. Closer to 4/45 mil.
