Nah in the early and mid 90s they ain't talk baseball that much. Only started talking about it when the Yankees got good. And Mike loves and knows more about Football than Baseball. I could see him doing an all NFL show. He'd only have to work 5 months of the year too

His football show that he does on Sunday mornings are great, so I won't be mad at an all football show from him. I would miss him talking about the other sports like basketball and baseball because he's very knowledgeable and entertaining when talking about those sports also. Yo, he's even mentioned that he's been approached several times to do a politics show. Lowkey, he's a big politics fan. He loves talking about elections, politicians, etc. Could see him being great at that also, even though I believe he's a right winger on the low.

He says some outlandish stuff once in awhile on every sport. That's just his know it all personality. But he still is very knowledgeable in the top 3 sports. I don't think he embarrassed himself during the playoffs. What exactly did he say that would make you believe that?

Yeah, people don't even realize he got his start in college basketball. In addition, most people romanticize players of their youth, it's not surprising he doesn't give contemporary players their due

Well, during the Finals the inevitable MJ/Lebron comparisons came up, and he was "downplaying" Jordan as just a great scorer and that is where he had the edge on Bron and refusing to acknowledge MJ as a passer and defender. Now I'm not saying Jordan was the passer Bron is cuz he's not, but he was no slouch there. Callers who actually had their shyt together were calling up and bringing up the fact that he averaged a triple double in the first Finals against the Lakers or his early assist and rebound totals when he had less help and he would just dismiss them and not acknowledge he was wrong. Don't get me wrong I can tell Francesca watches a lot of hoop because he be commenting on league pass games but his opinions are just out of touch and not rooted in reality, if I want legit NBA talk I am fukking with Lebatard or Russeilo.

O yea, that MJ/Lebron thing had me kinda perturbed also but let's not act like Francesca isn't known to downplay another person's achievements/roles when he tries to solidify his points. We all know that Mike is the greatest and FAR from a one dimensional player, and Francesca does also, but he just wanted to build up his stance on Lebron. He even said several times during the playoffs that Mike wasn't one dimensional it's just that him and Lebron are different players (which is true).

Most of the rest of the stuff he had to say about the games and play during the playoffs/Finals was accurate. Mike is a pretentious a$$hole most of the times, but let's not act like he isn't entertaining and also VERY knowledgeable about sports. And I'd listen to him over Lebatard or Russilo ANYDAY of the week and twice on Sunday.
