Yeah he definitely never said she wasn’t funny. He said she hasn’t proven herself in front of a live audience for a full hour or longer set with jokes. So what got her picked over other, more ‘proven’ funny women for a role in something like Girls Trip which had three seasoned vets. He also said people love her because she’s ‘real’ but everybody has a real as fukk funny auntie/cousin/sister etc, does that make them all automatically comediennes. Seemed to me like he was getting at that she’s a funny actress - but not a comedienne - that was picked to be the face of black female comedy for other reasons.

Unless somebody can point me to the part of the interview where he outright said she wasn't funny

maybe.... and just maybe... she went to an audition and was actually the best person

she actually said she had to audition 4 times after begging to get the first one... y'all think it's just that easy to tap dance your way into leading roles? reminds me of everybody thinking any random nikka could call QM and have the same hits as drake... c00ning ain't about to get you a movie part... that audition line is long as fukk. and somebody must have seen her perform if both wanda sykes and kevin hart saw her and tried to bring her up... same way chris rock brought wanda along when i'm sure there were other black female comedians who was out longer and put in more work... nikkas can't even discover their own talent now

I guess its the same way that trump has never said that he was racist but people with an iq above room temperature can read between the lines of what he has said to know that he's racist. Maybe you just have to have an iq above 75 to get the obvious implication katt made about haddish.

Just came here to say that Mike Epps is a TERRIBLE comedian. His shyt is middle school level humor.

You can also add Kevin Hart & Tiffany Haddish to the group of "middle school level humor" comics.

I thought Will Packer produced a lot of Kevin's recent movies. Now hes doing partnerships with his network. He's doing an outstanding job pushing comics through and being supportive.

The problem Kevin is gonna run into is if he keeps saying "what do black people want me to do?" when most black people support him and his brand - not saying everyone thinks he's funny - but people support his hustle. He might need to tread carefully on the finger pointing towards black people. Nobody is going to have 100% support. Just stick to attacking the specific people that are attacking you.

I’ve tried to watch a few Mike Epps stand ups and

I can just go down to the gas station in the hood to hear “nikka you ole...lookin ass!!” Or “you ever been passing a blunt and...” type jokes....nothing special there imo

But he’s a Grade A hater, when he was starring in movies with Cube I don’t remember anybody hating on him
