The thing with Migos is they aren't delivering anything lyrically. If the beat doesn't bang and the hook isn't catchy then there really isn't anything left.

It's not like a Kendrick or Cole album that you listen to for skill.

The best lines by Migos are their hooks. That's what get people hype..

"Raindrops, droptops..."
"Slipperyyyyyy, excuse me please me...."

Hip hop has moved to the melodic hooks with synthetic productions.

Idk breh. This project has some amazing tracks, like all-time great Migos songs. But it's too long and bloated. Some fat needed to be trimmed, some songs too repetitive and blend into each other imo.

Quavo has lost his ability to rap, shyt he wasn't much better on Culture tho and that was almost flawless so...

I'll see how it grows on me with more listens.
Quavo floated on several tracks. Stop it.

no comparison to his work on No Label II era when he was a legit dual threat in spitting bars and crafting creative melodies. He can "float" here and there but he was clearly the best and most complete member early on. Not the case now. He's lazy.

I'm not quite sold on the whole playlist thing. I think it's just a cop-out to ensure we as the consumers don't critique the finished product as hard as we would an album.

I think the playlist label fits Culture 2 and the QC album because there is no theme or depth to them. Very few, if any, changes in mood on here. We ain't learn one single thing about them personality wise and they just made generic songs.

Not saying I ain't digging Culture 2, but it's obvious now they're not wanting a "classic" albun and prefer having a few bangers chosen by the fans.

This really is their best song the way they switched up use classic Eazy E & Slick Rick flows and it sounds unlike any other song of theirs. But now, they aint really trying to break their formula.
