It's developing as we speak. This so called rebel offensive started right after the Hezbollah Israel ceasefire. Israel and Turkey saw an opportunity here to strike at Assad in a coordinated offensive that was obviously planned out since long before.

Israel wants to stop Hezbollah from receiving Iranian support via Syria. While turkey have their own interests within Syria.

Turkey foreign minister claims no knowledge which is absurd because the US has been arming these jihadists through Turkey.

Turkey been playing these brics countries as a partner and developing deals and economic and energy deals with Russia, they're building a big nuclear plant in Turkey. Now they've struck Syria and want to leverage that into concessions from Russia in their dealings.
