Sony joined a troll/shell company with MS though. Apple was the ones that bailed out cause they had 2nd thoughts on continuing down the path of being a troll.

And for the record MS has a patent on FAT32....hahaha! people act like SD card companies don't have to break bread. Plus Linux infringes on MS so naturally Android had to be handed out instead of sold.

what am I lying about? I don't check this type of tech news with regularity....but i'm pretty sure MS holds patents that people continue to break. you don't have to use a patent actively to own it and enforce it.

Microsoft isn't selling shyt. I find it hilarious that mostly Sony stans that claim to not give a fukk about the xbox spend day and night making posts about it. Especially since Sony is losing billions per quarter, despite having the top selling next gen console so far.

The fact of the matter is Sony is literally on the brink of insolvency, yet Sony fanatics are focused on M$ as if they're in any risk of financial trouble.

Does anyone know if the XB division has been a profitable venture for Microsoft up to this point?

I always assumed so but then if you look at all the factors(throwing all that money around last gen, RROD costing them major cash, timed exclusives, and the ridiculous marketing budget they have) I'm not so sure.......... However the 360 sold 80+ mill last gen, they must be eating well off live and I heard Kinect was very profitable for them last gen.


Any Xbox brehs have numbers on this?

The truth is, Fortaleza will eliminate the need for the projectors for a player with the shades
They still will have a projector version, but expect that next gen or late this gen if a miracle happens

The X360 was an extremely profitable console. R&D on the Xbox one took hundreds of millions, so i think its in the red currently, especially in the short term. But again, this is a ten year race, so i'm sure these short term losses will be ultimately regained. I honestly think the Xbox One is a bit ahead of its time, and the gaming public just isn't ready for such a console. I mean, PC master race gamers, mobile phone users, as well as anyone that has everdownloaded digtial content are well aware of the myriad of benefits of direct download, despite dRM. However, the gaming luddites on the Sony side have successfully scared the gaming public to fear DRM, despite the obvious benefits.

Once people wake up to the amazing benefits the X1 offers over its rivals, its will take off. It may be a bit delyaed but it will. I predict X1 will definitely hit it's stride this christmas.....
