Still playing this. It’s trash on the Xbox though. Very unreliable. I’m probably gonna have to get a PC

I've been playing a lot in PCVR and man the experience is incredible. Think I might even invest in a yoke/throttle setup. I've been seeing some INSANE hobby builds on youtube. People building full replicas of Airbus cockpits in their garages. Like damn, I wish I had the passion/ingenuity/finances to do it

Yeah some of these setups are crazy. I’m probably just gonna get a flight stick. I don’t mind playing with the controller though, but they say it’s easier with a proper setup

I got the S. Was gonna upgrade to the X, but I heard them people on X are still having problems with crashing, stuttering and planes having black screens and not starting up.

I heard they’re coming out with a new version in the fall. Hopefully that fixes it

My wife has taken a flew flying lessons and wants this to do a little practice at home.

She'll be playing off the PC. Any suggestions for the best yoke/throttle/pedal setups? Doesn't have to be top of the line.

Honeycomb yoke and throttle quadrant if and only if they're in stock - some shyt is happening behind the scenes that makes back ordering risky. Logitech rudder pedals and have a plan to keep them from sliding on your floor. Expect to pay 250-300 per item.

I’m dead ass trying to get my type ratings to be a contracted private jet pilot…. This flight sim is goat shyt learning how to fly

That’s good to hear. I’m gonna try to start training for my PPL soon.

How many hours you have? I heard that you should let the employer pay for your jet ratings.

Finally about to hit africa. :blessed:

This has been a crazy long journey circumnaivigating from east asia. Im gonna attempt my first long duration flight today to make it to the continenet. Normally its just30 min flights per day and then i do the next leg seperately.

I have never just sat at the screen for 2 hours, but im trying to cross the red sea today. One of these days i might clear a day out and attempt a real time longhaul flight, but i cant help but groan at 4hours staring at thescreen. :francis:

Instead of crossing through egypt and the mediteranean , i think i might spend the next few weeks taking the old Ferdinand MAgellen route around africa. Gonna be nice to see more scenic routes. Its been nothing but barren desert and Arab struggle cities since i got to Iraq. But i will say im rather suprised at how little sand is actually present in these places. I was kinda picturing the scene from Alladin with the endless sand dunes once i got to Saudi Arabia, but its just dry rocks. Might as well be in new mexico :beli:

Tbh, South East Asia was the last place that was dense with atractive scenery. With a brief exception of Iranian landscapes. Iran was beautiful brehs :mjcry:

I tried to get back into this game after playing so many sims in cpu for years but on the Xbox, this shyt is impossible to remember all the keys and functions.

Just gonna stick to train world 4 or maybe play MS flight sim on my cpu instead of xbox

alright brehs. im convinced sudan is the most boring country on earth. i swear to god its just flat, barren wasteland in every direction. :dahell:

and don't get me wrong, i have flown through thosands of miles of desert from afghanistan all the way to saudi arabia, but this place is indescribably ugly and forgetable. no cool rock formations, no desert oasis(es), no mountains, no sand dunes, no funkyndesert plants, no cities, no highways.... just nothing .

Their capital city reminds a little bit of cincinnati and looks okay cause of the Nile river in the background , but everything else in the nation is trash.
