Yeah I expanded it in my edit. Before Pillman and Mero you weren't getting shyt unless you were booked which was why guys were so protective of their spots. But yeah, only if you're on the show and obviously dependant on your placement there.

That has to be $150,000 a year which is still really low for someone they immediately paired as a main Undertaker nemesis
nah that makes sense, according to Prichard there was essentially no guaranteed money in WWE and they paid you in "opportunity" until Vince started loosing too many guys and started giving guaranteed contracts.

I think they made all their money up on the backend through house show appearances where they got a piece of the gate if they were used, appearances and merch

PPV revenue too.

That probably explains the crazy road schedule they used to work and why so many guys worked through serious injuries.

The story goes that Vince never wanted to sign Mick Foley, but Jim Ross eventually convinced him to bring Foley in. So, I'm not surprised that Foley had a shytty first contract since he was only signed to appease JR.

Yup Ross pretty much had to beg Vince to sign him
