Not certain but I heard she gets paid as a background singer, they don’t split that Destiny Child money evenly. Michelle might not have any bread.
Yeah I think I read or heard that somewhere. Like she was a replacement in the middle of an album run of an album that was already selling well. So contracts had been signed. But they went on to become even bigger and better so I'm sure she's comfortable but not "balllin ballin"

To be honest, she's not in that boat alone, as a not too well recognized member of a well known R&B group. For example, most people didn't know the name of "The Spinners" member, who sung the verse in that cool deep voice, "12:45", in their 1975' hit, "Games People Play". That was Pervis Jackson. I heard the only original surviving member, Henry Frambrough, jokingly say in an interview himself several years ago, that he bet nobody even knew who he was. Mr. Frambrough sung lead on some of their biggest hits, including my favorite, "I Don't Want To Lose You", who as a young teen, always thought that was Phillippe Wynne. After watching this video of Michelle Williams' commerical, the first person that came to my mind was Henry Frambrough, and what he said.

I stand corrected. I just found out that Henry Frambrough passed away last month on February 7, 2024. He was living right there in Sterling, Virginia (NOVA). There are no more original members of my favorite group, "The Spinners", left. I know this thread was about Michelle Williams' commercial, but I have to say rest in peace to Henry FramBrough. His passing last month deserved a thread of it's own. Man did he have a smooth singing voice, that I repeatedly failed to imitate.

You will always be a legend in my book, Henry Frambrough. Again, Rest in Peace.

I have a buddy who kinda fits the category, who can't laugh at himself. I think he's been listening to too many of those Less Brown "Positive Thinking" tapes. He doesn't even like to laugh sometimes at funny experiences I tell about myself...making him the only buddy that takes it that far. Then again, maybe it's becasue he's still tryna get on his feet...who knows.

With that said, I could criticize Michelle Williams, and accuse her of being too hard on herself, and for setting a bad example for Black celebrities. Or I could laugh with her. I'm gonna laugh with her on this one, all though getting her name confused with that dog did make one hestitate.
