To be honest, she's not in that boat alone, as a not too well recognized member of a well known R&B group. For example, most people didn't know the name of "The Spinners" member, who sung the verse in that cool deep voice, "12:45", in their 1975' hit, "Games People Play". That was Pervis Jackson. I heard the only original surviving member, Henry Frambrough, jokingly say in an interview himself several years ago, that he bet nobody even knew who he was. Mr. Frambrough sung lead on some of their biggest hits, including my favorite, "I Don't Want To Lose You", who as a young teen, always thought that was Phillippe Wynne. After watching this video of Michelle Williams' commerical, the first person that came to my mind was Henry Frambrough, and what he said.
I stand corrected. I just found out that Henry Frambrough passed away last month on February 7, 2024. He was living right there in Sterling, Virginia (NOVA). There are no more original members of my favorite group, "The Spinners", left. I know this thread was about Michelle Williams' commercial, but I have to say rest in peace to Henry FramBrough. His passing last month deserved a thread of it's own. Man did he have a smooth singing voice, that I repeatedly failed to imitate.
You will always be a legend in my book, Henry Frambrough. Again, Rest in Peace.
