I rather have the prequel to Collateral. Just an origin story of Vincent and how he became a cold blooded hitman.
I'm not really a fan of villains getting origin stories to "humanize" them. Some folks are just evil, if Mann wanted Vincent to be more of a "grey" character, he'd have done that.

'Heat' is an absolute classic. I heard this new book was good but still. There's no way the film lives up to expectations given how great the first one is.
Also what's up with these titles? Heat 2 is a bad title. Gladiator 2 is a bad title. I hope these are just working titles.

I'm moreso talking about the trauma that made him into a monster. Just a all around twisted dark type of movie similar to Logan.

Oh Sh!t, he's going to adapt his novel for real. I guess after writing it he realize he could really do the sequel. Pacino and Deniro can come back (De-aging like Harrison did in Indy). They could do some prequel scenes maybe. Val is obviously going through his issues. Tom Sizemore is no longer with us either. I like the idea of a Prequel/Sequel ala "Godfather II". You have to cast the younger characters right. Adam Driver is a good actor, we'll see if he takes the role. "Heat" was off the chain. One of the GOAT Crime Thrillers. I can't believe "Heat" and "Gladiator" are getting sequels. I always viewed both of those films as standalones. I remember it had two VHS Tapes when it dropped in 95, lol.

This. I'm surprised that of all movies, AHOV never had a prequel. They made dude sound like the Tasmanian Devil before he left the life and changed his identity.
As far as Heat 2 - ehhhh, the good thing is that at least it's Michael Mann behind it. I still never got round to reading the novel yet. I'm waiting til I'm on a long flight.
But there's no way you're gonna come close to the GOAT crime drama.
