my dad is the same age as MJ and heavy into P funk.

im marveling at the fact that people don't realize that young people nowadays are the first generation to listen to 40 year old music.

hiphop shoulda died out in the early 2000s to make way for the next thing instead 16 year olds are listening to same shyt as 36 year olds.

This is the same shyt I was saying in another thread....young dudes talking about old heads need to get out of hip-hop....this is our generation's music. :what:

I'm ready for the new gen to create something of their own from the old genres like those before them (ragtime, jazz, gospel, reggae, blues, rock n roll, house music, hip-hop). No growth. One thing that hindered creativity is corporations and globalization. When a buying demographic dictates the art instead of the culture, thats not good. You have artists then catering to demand rather than the essence of the art. Thats why the sound keeps getting more watered down and each artist is more ratchet and the conscious ones are boring af. Also, defunding and removing music and arts out of the public school the last decade + stifled creativity. The destruction of the family plays a part, no one passes on legacies. Ever noticed good entertainers come from musical/artistic families or communities (Fela Kuti's grandad recorded hymns for the British). If you ever been to Durham, NC you won't be surprised why Shirley Cesar and John P Kee sing gospel, even your neighborhood dope boy and wino there can blow and started out in church. :russ: It's (at least was) like the Detroit of gospel singers. Blew my mind.

I live in one of the most historically black cities in the US...and rap only recently became the most popular form of music amongst young black folks here.

What did you expect from mr.no nikkas :mjpls:

He only tolerates black folk when we buy his overrated jordans :mjlol: :mjpls:

Its well know that MJ doesnt fukk with black folks in the usa and has serious difficulty to relate to the average black dude, he is removed from the average life experiences of most black ppl.

He's a billionaire, plays golf with tom brady and other rich cacs, and will probably vote for trump next year.

I wont even be surprised if trump is actual buddies with MJ.

trump has more in common with MJ than with any old regular cac.
I always got a vibe that he doesn't like whites actually, I'd say it's likely Jordan is just not a socialable dude period.

CHICAGO
I see what you're saying but there's a bunch of ballers that played with Mike, round his age, that love hip hop music. I just find it funny that his sneakers is huge in our culture and it's history and that he doesn't even fvck with the music at all.

This was made before hip hop was this huge pop marketed cultural phenomenon.
Rap only came on one mainstream station on Friday and Saturday nights and mike would have been a wnua 95.5 guy at the time.
He would never have been listening to ramone ski and would never have had icebox or jp chip on hpk 88.5.
shyt he may have never listened to wkkc and may not have liked house music, either.
Older black people in his Gen did not listen to rap, or house.
Plus, cliff levingston was the guy.
who made chicago urban fun and a club based experience for everyone in the chi.

So, why are people asking mike to like sumfin.
No black person in general liked at that exact time.

nikkaz think Rap been a mainstay in popular culture and show they really don't know the history of hip hop.
Let alone , rap to begin with.

Art Barr

Asking mike to like rap in the blues and house capital of the world.
In the nineties,...nikka you sound dumb as that thang.

You not from this city or this area clearly :mjlol:

Tradewinds, Marygold's, Byrne manor and the joint up Naylor Rd was jumpin every single weekend up until about 2010-2011ish...most of the spots in the city were shut down...all the ones in maryland were still live.

gogo will never completely fall off.

And how about you tell me where your camp spot at and you can find out how "leprous" i am. :stopitslime:

Or better yet come by my gym in Temple Hills.....ill let u lace em up with a 12 year old and we'll see if yahawah bahasham yahawashi gave you that true spiritual power to last more than one rd with middle schooler :shaq:
