Also, the directors cut is maybe 20 min longer, however if you hated the theater cut, then you won't like the directors cut.....but, it does add some context and the score is sharper, and the use of the 'In The Air Tonight' remake is pretty perfect, much better then the score, during the last shootout. The speedboat race in the beginning is a pretty nice addition too.

Miami Vice embodied the 80's. You can't duplicate an past era set in modern times.
