Movie was wack as fukk. shyt was a love story and about 60% was unneccary scenes. 5 minutes of him and the asian bytch in a speed boat. Another 10 minutes of him and Jamie Foxx in diffrent shower scenes. add another 10 minutes of car scenes I can go on and on.

Wack movie

People went in there expecting a translation of the show or another shoot 'em up like a bunch of other flicks and weren't ready...Michael Mann wrote it closer to what detectives really go thru when they go out on an assignment like that

No he made a Michael Mann movie and called it Miami vice . If it was called vice cops or something else it would be looked at different ..That movie is as unrealistic as the tv show

Yeah the movie was pretty forgettable and not entertaining at all. .

But that scenery when they showed that mansion surrounded by the tropical rainforest and the waterfall. :banderas:

I just need a few more certs and one day I can have something like that for myself. :mjcry:

I can't believe anyone who really like the show, would hate the movie, the shows best and earliest moments are classic Mann. It's dark, and brooding, nihlistic...almost every episode ended with some nod to to the ongoing helplessness of the drug war, and their devastated personal lives.....the one exception to the darkness was their friendship, which is exactly how the movie played....Yeah, there are some bad lines, yeah the love story doesn't quite work....but it works enough. That was classic Crockett, always the wrong women, wrong time, wrong life, and always ended by the closing credits. The direction, music, overall look and feel of the movie is incredible.....Loved 'Miami Vice', Mann is unrivaled at crime/drama thrillers...

It was cool. But the film was missing the most important aspect of the the TV series...Miami in the 80s. The Music...Loud colors...Testarossas...Countach's...Cocaine Cowboys...Calderone...and Elvis the Alligator.

Also the film was way too serious. The show had bits of humor here and there. Would have like to see some character development as well which is alot easier to do in a series as opposed to 1 movie.
It would have been a pretty good franchise had they decided to go that route. I guess Jamie Foxx fukked it up though. Hopefully the reboot it again and do it better. But I liked it. The music and Cinematography were dope.

nothing beats the emotion in the original obviously

Where dat NY Undercover film tho
