The Miami Heat on Tuesday formally announced the signing of free-agent center Keith Benson, giving the Heat 17 players on their offseason roster.
The Heat did not announce terms of the deal, but the contract is not guaranteed, a source confirmed to the Sun Sentinel. Yeah but we may not be able to give him the max he'll want and other teams will be thirsting after him.
If it's a $5M difference over 4 years, then he'll give us the discount. If any team offers him like $10M-12M more than we can he's gone. I understand that he;s grateful to Riley for giving him a chance but his family and his agent will make sure to remind him that this is a business and Riley's grace is conditional and only while he's in his prime.
Knicks , Mavs, and other teams that arent cheap will have cap room next year and will be gunning for him. Riley and Micky know they have their work cut out for them if they hope to keep him. Thank God Haslem, Bird, Wade, Deng and Mario's contracts come off the books next season. If we can resign Hassan and Wade we'll be competitive
