Why is Chalmers still here? :beli:

Welcome to Mario Chalmers’ offseason, where the discussion has been as much about trimming the Miami Heat’s luxury-tax bill with a trade as it has been about how the veteran guard might fit in with a roster that has undergone a dramatic upgrade over the past six months. “Just see what happens. I haven’t spoken to anybody. When I had my exit meeting with Pat [Riley], he said the only way he would trade me was if he had to,” Chalmers said matter-of-factly before making an appearance on behalf of the Warren Henry Auto Group at the All-Star Basketball Kids Camp.

“I mean it’s kind of tough just hearing all the rumors and stuff. But you know, that’s what it was, was just rumors. I’ve just got to keep focusing on my game and keep my mind straight and keep fighting through it,” Chalmers said in a private moment, before addressing a group that included 10 underprivileged participants sponsored by Warren Henry.

I'm willing to bet that STAT ends up in the running for 6th man award next season. He can eat in the post, off p&r and off pick and pop's. This team fits him perfectly. They won't lose anything offensively when Bosh is on the bench.
I dunno, you have to log a good amount of minutes off the bench to fill up the stat sheet to sniff a 6th man...he'll be fighting for time with mcbob, Bird and Spo's love interest Haslem so I don't know if he'll play enough to get his numbers

but he'll be productive in the minutes he does get

Yeah. I hope Spo does not fukk this season up with his rotations. Stat should be the 1st nikka off the bench and should play at least 22mpg. His per 36 numbers for the last 2 seasons have been off the charts. Something like 24 and 9 on 59% or some shyt like that.

i think if anyone has a chance at 6th man it would be Gerald Green. primary backup for Wade, can also play the SF spot, and will probably get about 10 starts

He doesnt play defense. Im surprised Riley even bothered to sign him knowing damn well neither he nor his boy Spo would ever play a player who most of the time doesnt even put in the effort on defense. He's pretty much taking over Beasley's spot on the bench
  • McRoberts on the other hand is the tough-nosed type defender Riley and Spo loves and he crashes the glass AND, like Bosh, he is SMART on offense. Did i mention he shoots 3s?
  • Birdman isnt the same Birdman he used to be but also tough-nosed defender who just plays his role
  • Haslem is done but can still give you 6-10 quality minutes when you have to rotate a lot of bigs in against a dominant PF or C
  • Again, Amare does not play defense.
Now, let me hear your argument again about how "Stat" will be in the discussion for 6th man:smugdraper:

Can't wait to see Bosh back this year, such a funny cat. Caught a body then hit the plank in the middle of a game :laff:

When it's all said it done one of my top 5 favorite Heat players ever Wade/Zo/UD/Bosh/Arroyo

Best
Wade
LB James
Zo
Shaq
Hardaway

Honorable Mention: Glenn Rice

Favorites
Wade
Mashburn
Zo
Bosh
Miner

Honorable Mention: Seikaly

Cant stand
Beasley
Brian Shaw
Voshon Leonard

Honorable mention: I respect and dont dislike them but I never cared for Glenn Rice or Steve Smith like that even tho they put us on the map

Biggest disappointments:
Basley - Nuff said
Harold Miner - I won't lie i was a Miner Stan. I bought into the baby Jordan Hype.
Khaleed Reeves - I was really looking forward to this kid developing into a star. Sadly he was like Napier. Too small and lacked skills to make up for size
Dorell Wright - I never bought into the T-Ma comparisons but envisioned him at least being a career starter
