You're talking about him paying the NBA about 37 million right now....in taxes. That's a little of 1/3rd of the payroll for the roster spots ADDED onto what he has to pay now.

Contrary to what you seem to think, owners LIKE their money and starting 37 million in the whole isn't a good money making venture.

Of course he COULD make it up...and? Guess what else COULD happen? We could have one of the most injured teams of Miami Heat history, one of our star players can form rare blood clots in his lungs, etc.

You guys aren't looking at this from the sense of a business owner, just fans of the team.

This isn't a 37 million dollar investment, it's just money the taxes and money that he's losing by keeping the roster as is.

That's money that simply disappears, with no promise that the team does anything or is as good as he's hoping. He might recoup those losses but I'm sure he'd rather use the Miami Heat to make more money, not start 37 million in the hole after dropping the 90 million in salary for the roster alone.
