I kinda like it. Its not the DOOM ive been craving, but its kinda cool on its own and rounds out his catalog nicely.

Theres some boring moments but nothing here feels outright terrible. Its actually kinda funky and interesting sounding. Definitely different than the project Jneiro did with Khujo Goodie

Actually, Wash Your Hands is pretty terrible. But I kinda like this. Its far from incredible, but I guess Id take any new DOOM at this point

I'm wondering if me and others are actually listening to the same album here. I'm five tracks in and loving the combination of Jarel and DOOM. Makes DOOM's sometimes monotonous style sound pretty fresh behind the beats.

But that's the thing, DOOM isn't a hype rapper. Someone you could definitely sit back and blow a smoke to...Madvillainy is at his best because the beats suit his style so perfectly. Accordian, Rhinestone Cowboy, Figaro :ohlawd:

The producer doesn't go with DOOM's style or persona like...not at all.

Yeah, so? I understand what you're saying, but that's exactly why he should get out of the comfort zone and experiment a little bit, rather than just having him ride the beat endlessly (not a bad thing in and of itself, it's just been done). I just thing that the more active beats, though they may not be DOOM's style, are done in a way to be built around his voice and rapping rather than really clashing with it.

But, hell, I'm used to these types of beats and rappers over them, so it may just be that. I'm just hearing all this "wack" talk and go in thinking I'm going to hear a mess, and I just hear an atypical, fresh DOOM album. Isn't that what collaborations are supposed to be: Something that puts the artists in new contexts and gives them new perspective?

Dunno if I'd call it disappointing since I didn't expect much, but yea...I'm not feeling this. The production just doesn't fit DOOM's style, and while he catches the beats a few times overall he sounds a bit lost. There are some dope tracks but overall I'd be surprised if I come back to this album...

Seems like a more acrobatic rapper like Danny Brown could have murdered these types of beats, but DOOM sounds hesitant.

Surprised at all the negative comments here, I streamed the album this morning and was sounding good to me, and I'm quite a DOOM fan...beats are not all that, but not terrible either IMO...

Or maybe I'm just happy to see one DOOM project actually happen :wtb:
