You can't tell with any food honestly

A better argument would be the food quality and the chefs ability

I can't verify if a mexican hand or Italian hand whipped it up

If you're saying Olive Garden tastes the same as an authentic Italian restaurant you are bugging man. Olive Garden is full of sodium and preservatives. Italian restaurants use real tomato sauce (with real tomatoes), better pastas, etc.

Same with Mexican joints. The best way to tell is when white people buy a formerly authentic Mexican restaurant and start adding random bullshyt to the tacos.
Ironically, This reads like a Papa John's commercial :pachaha:

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Well Mexico has several styles of Mexican food anyway. For example I met a Mexican from Colorado who moved to nyc and thought nyc Mexican food was nasty simply because she is from a different part of Mexico than these Mexicans here.

Maybe the fake food looks similar cause the cuisine is so diverse?

Authentic italian food goes way beyond sauce cheese meat and pasta. Italian cuisine differs greatly from region to region (in Italy).

You cannot tell the difference between "Authentic" Mexican & Italian food vs. their generic versions.

I'm sorry.

:yeshrug:

You can tell the difference between authentic Chinese food vs. generic

You can tell the difference between authentic Indian food vs. generic

You can tell the difference between authentic Cajun food vs. generic

You can tell the difference between authentic Soul food vs. generic

You can tell the difference between authentic Caribbean food vs. generic

African, Southern, and the list goes on.

When it comes to Italian food, I've had "authentic" Italian and that shiit always tastes just like the bullshyt they serve at Olive Garden. It's hard to do anything different when 90% of your dishes is just Meat, Sauce, Cheese, & Pasta. You never hear people say, "Oh there's this Italian spot..." Nope. It's always just whatever Italian spot you see, will do.

Same kinda goes for Mexican. Not as much as Italian though. I've had "authentic" Mexican from hole in the wall Mom & Pop spots and even in Mexico, and it's not much different than what you get at many generic Mexican restaurants. There is some difference, but not anything major. Again it's hard to really do anything different when 90% of the dishes use the same ingredients. Meat, Cheese, Peppers, Tortillas.
Cajun cuisine isnt Creole Cuisine
