Famitsu Sales: 10/7/24 – 10/13/24

Famitsu has published its estimated physical game software data for Japan for the week of October 7, 2024 to October 13, 2024.

Tbh Japan really turning into a massive handheld/Mobile game market. Like this was known before, this really clarifies how extreme it is. Persona 6 will absolutely be on Switch 2 and I expect Metaphor to get a Switch 2 port as well. Though it's crazy to think that 10% of Metaphor's sales came from Japan for a big new JRPG IP.

At this point with 3rd Party JRPG's whether it is on PS5 vs Switch will just depend on which market they are catering towards. PS5 for west or Switch 2 for Japan.

Methaphor looks like a Switch game. Anyway those sales are pretty good for it. Look at the chart only games that really sell well in Japan are Nintendo games.

PS4 and Switch matters a lot. It isn't just PS5 and Switch.

I can bet if FF was on Switch and PS4 it would've sold a LOT more there too. It's also on PC. So 2 major platforms there(PS4/Switch) compared to only 1.
