An interesting bit of news dropped on Monday as the Atlanta Business Chronicle reportedthat the scheduled July demolition of the Georgia Dome will be pushed back until the end of the year

Yes, been told they will not open the retractable roof at all next season. Apparently the ground beneath the stadium has settled 18 inches through construction, which is double what they expected it to settle in the first 5 years. Worried if they open the roof and the weight is distributed differently on the structure they won't be able to close it.

There are alotta rumors circulating about the stadium and its functionality. This stadium uses more steel than any sports stadium in the world so it's overall weight could cause that to happen
