Interior has never been a selling point for me. I mostly want the exterior to look cool so when i pull up people are like
Plus the performance needs to be a plus so when i pull out people are like
nobody can see my interior through my tinted windows anyway and i'm not living in the car.

Putting all that functionality behind a touch screen is a terrible idea. As soon as that screen fails, you can't access a lot of the features in your car. No thanks. That's not even taking into account the possibility of the car being hacked since they are putting all of these electronic systems inside of these cars.

I think the big move to electric and making everything electronic is the control that it affords the government over your car. If everything is computerized and the car has wifi capabilities, then everything in the car can be tracked and everything in the car can be controlled. Behind on your car payment on your car with 'self-driving' capabilities? Let your 'smart household' open the garage door and have your car drive itself back to the dealership. The cops want to get a hold of you? Have your car disengage manual control and have it automatically drive you to the police station.

That 'smart thermostat' that was automatically adjusting it's temperature should give you a clue of what's coming down the pipeline and where all this tech is heading.

Can’t speak for Mercedes’s implementation, but touchscreens absolutely can work in cars. I’ve been driving one for the last 6.5 years.

THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM IS INSULATED FAIRLY WELL FROM HACKING. THE OTHER DAY I WAS EXPLAINING TO AN OWNER WHY CERTAIN SYSTEM UPDATES COULD NOT BE DONE OTA IN HIS MACH E.

THE COPLIOT SYSTEM CANNOT BE EXPOSED TO ANY TYPE OF REMOTE CONFIGURATION.
