When higher education and standardized testing becomes a priority, a lot of things get left behind. When college rates were super low decades ago, cats had more time building their bodies and hobbies cause they were not worried about thinking about a test in a Hard STEM course or if some corrupt professor gonna fail them over nonsense. 
Plus the job market today only cater to female occupations like nurturing people and psychology, and (former) male nerdy professions. No more jocks going to work in a factory or working in construction or being a mechanic like that anymore.

I gotta hit the gym atleast 4-5 times a week. Might be more than most, but it's been a hobby of mine for years. That's one of the reasons I hate being sick, throws my gym schedule off 
Only exception of skipping multiple days is if I'm on vacation.
