Were in Conference USA, which was a pretty good basketball conference and then Cincinnati, Louisville, DePaul, and Marquette left. Their conference schedule has been straight ass for years now so they joined the Big East. Everybody was happy we would finally see some good competition come to Memphis. Pitt, Syracuse, West Virginia, Notre Dame, and Louisville are now out the door. DePaul, Georgetown, Marquette, Villanova, St. Johns, Providence, and Seton Hall are about to bounce leaving only Cincinatti and Uconn for them to play.

I'm not even surprised about this shyt.. To be honest we'll sill get to the Tourny off talent but with our football team will never make a big leap into a decent conference. Granted finishing the season with 4 wins was nice.

so far we get the number 2 recruiting class with ole boy from east coming so hopefully we can treat the new Big East as our old Conference USA and tear through it.

like I said I'm not surprised about what happened to the Big East but I really was looking forward to going to some dope basketball games my senior year

they didn't commit to the Big East until after Pitt/Syr/WVU left and really of them Catholic schools you named the only ones that are worth a damn are GT and Marq. The Catholic schools forming their new league need to take UConn/Cincy/Memphis/Temple along with them, who knows how their football for those that play in FBS will work out but I'm a cbb fan first.

They been trying to get out of Conference USA for years now. You may not have heard about them trying to get into the Big East until after Pitt, Syr, and WVU left, but it was happening behind the scenes for a while. What really fukked them over is they had a good chance to move when Cal was the coach but he didnt want to because he wanted to just run roughshod through that wack ass Conference USA. They caved to that fool and let him have his way and then he bounced anyway.

You may think those other catholic schools arent worth anything but they are better than seeing Rice, UTEP, Marshall, Tulane, East Carolina, etc.... They literally give away tickets to see Memphis play their Conference USA schedule.

BE could've had Memphis when they first picked up all them CUSA schools but as par for the course, the officials running the league bent over backwards to appease the Catholic schools and chose DePaul because it fit with their idelogy. BE always been fukking themselves, dating all the way back to when the Catholic schools voted nay on inviting Penn St before they joined the Big 10.

At least Memphis is relevant in basketball. It's been a long time since Phi Slama Jama. We were hoping this would be the first step in getting back on the national scene.

Looks like we'll all be waiting for the acc to get raided so hopefully 4-6 of us can slide in.
