what are some other good ones?
korean flicks i've liked:
oldboy/lady vengeance/mr vengeance
the man from nowhere
chaser
no mercy
new world
the good the bad the weird
a tale of two sisters
anything else i should peep soon?
"I saw the Devil" was incredible. It litterally left me speechless from the sheer violence to the stunning twists.
"A bittersweet life" is a good flick too with the same lead actor. It's the kinda of classy noir gangster movie and I recommend you to watch it before "I saw the Devil" which is the best SoKorean movie I've seen to date
There is also "The Yellow Sea" also known as "The Murderer" from the same dude that did "The Chaser"... Well if you liked the latter, you will also like it. They both quality.
I liked "Mother" even if I was disappointed (a little too slow in my mind)
We should definitely have an official South Korean movies thread because people missing out on those. Good directors 4im trying to follow :
Hong-jin Na : The Chaser, The Yellow Sea
Kim Jee-woon : I Saw the Devil, A bittersweet life, The Good, the Bad and the Weird
Park Chan-wook : The Vengeance trilogy, Joint Security Area
Bong Joon-ho : Mother, Memories of Murder, The Host
