I get were your coming from but the curtain has been pulled too far back to go back to that. When every body knows everything and theirs really no more kayfabe how else are you suppose to get over on the mic. Not to mention alot of these cats lack experience with promos and don't have deep connection /understanding of who their character is supposed to be.

Look at the Reigns & Lesnar feud, they're keeping it strictly storyline and it's great. The reason they went 4th wall with Reigns and Cena is because that's how it started years ago. Fans just want to be entertained at the end of the day. CM Punk is capable of switching between real and kayfabe, but these wrestlers now aren't capable of doing the same. It's easy to get people toat real life shots, but can they get them to do the same when it's not real? That's more impressive to me.

There's obviously a couple rednecks and ultra obese dudes but these are the WWE/AEW fans most likely
