Profitable how? Renting out 20k seat arenas where 2-3k show up is a huge money loss, the video game was a complete bust, and the ppv numbers are private.

Same way WWE was profitable in the late 2010s when they were in half empty arenas and viewership was in the shytter.

They had Cena, who was still a major merchandise seller for them. Also their major ppvs were still very profitable as well. They also weren't paying obscene amounts of money to midcard talent.

The were paying midcard talent very good money for the type of revenue they were making in the 2010s. The late part of the decade, which was WWE's lowest point in 20+ years in terms of ticket sales, they had a roster of almost 280 wrestlers (AEW's peak was 2022 I think with 240 wrestlers, from what I could gather) and TV deals that were 230 million a year aprox.

And AEW PPVs are money makers every time as well.

I sincerely don't see how AEW could be spending more than 150 million, which is all they need to be the "2nd most profitable company ever". Which again, is a misleading headline, but I do believe it's true.

"Uhm, Uhm, y'know, I was really close to giving the match the 7 and a quarter stars and like, if it wasn't for the Matt Hardy run in and multiple concussions spot, I think this easily could've been a match of the year contender, and uhm if you look at the heat Jericho was getting with the 'Please Retire!" and "Jericho is fat and donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Trump campaign!' chants, I think that show just how big he's gotten the whole Learning Tree gimmick over, and that's why I decided to give it the 6 and a one half of 1/4 stars, and like, y'know, uhm.."

Meltzer doesn't know how to react to wrestlers calling him out on his bullshyt, so his go to move is to keep pretending like he has sources. :russ:

We're told they're money makers, but it's a privately owned company so the finances aren't released to the public.

I mean, we are told how much money the shows make every time TK is asked about in the post show presser (he doesn't always gets asked though). I also don't see how a 6-10k attendance shows with 120-150k PPV buys wouldn't be money makers :dwillhuh:

He's not actually wrong but the thing is:

Benjamin is better than them. They ARE inferior. So him losing to them looks off as fukk. If they bring in better wrestlers they should beat the midgrade losers they have.

AJ styles came in as a main eventer IMMEDIATELY. This is what you do.
