Nah he's a fan of whatever wrestlers work him, specifically, nowadays.

You know who Osprey is tied with for the most? Misawa

The reason wrestlers for years considered his ratings a joke is because there's zero rhyme or reason to them, and usually depends entirely on what company he's being worked by.

NJPW regularly "leaks" kayfabe shyt to him, which he eats up as legit and overreacts to after the fact. Someone obviously figured this out when they orchestrated the Tana/Okada thing on him.

Also, he legit got worked into breaking his 5 star scale by Okada. Ever since then five stars are really six and that's destroyed the historical reference, whatever there was, for his ratings anyway.

So he tried to fix that and retroactively give some old matches six stars too, but the reality of that is re-evaluating and scoring his entire catalogue
