Note how when these news stories are reported they don't mention or even bother asking about what the local govts climate change mitigation or response strategy is.
Are they allocating money in the budget to build barriers?
Are they investing in cooling technology to protect the remaining glaciers?
Are they planting more trees to absorb carbon and prevent soil erosion?
Are they taxing local companies based off emissions as part of a bylaw?
Are they putting more money in public transportation to calm traffic so emergency services can get on site faster?

We dont know. Because they dont want to do their job. What we get is "woah look how crazy these wild fires are! Wow look at that flooding. It's a record amount! Now to Mark with sports. What's the latest mark? 😀"

With this kind of trash reporting you're left with two conclusions:
1.climate change is a hoax(denial)
2.nothing can be done about it(despair)

But over time there may be a third conclusion that people come to:
3. The people responsible for this need to be eliminated and people who will actually do something need to take their place.

We deserve this.

Honestly, we need this...we won't learn until something catastrophic happens.
something catastrophic is happening almost weekly around the world…fires, floods, droughts, ocean warming to extents that we have never seen before…but politics and C.R.E.A.M wont allow for the seismic policy changes that are needed…in short, we’re fukked.

It's wild sitting there watching the ground erode around your crib knowing it's next on the chopping block and there's nothing you can do :to:
