He even left his home to do that and spat in their faces on the way out, and continued to spit in their faces. His intentions was to not let his desire to stay home (which he was very clear about) make him ever have to look back on his career and say that he didn't even hear people out and give himself the best chance to win. Apparently, no one's 5 year plan (he wasn't winning this coming season with both your franchise player and your defensive anchor coming off of injury -- see J.R.) was good enough and that's on them.
