3 rings and 60 win season witout em :snooze:

You really reaching by trying to downplay KL. You do realize that your comparing 1 guy who was drafted in 2003, to another who was drafted in 2011 right ?
Melo - won a scoring title
Kawhi - DPOY , Finals MVP, 1 Ring, with many more accolades to come

The same cats who are saying its the system or teammates around him, are the same who were saying the spurs are old and washed up. Kawhi came into the league as a good defender and rebounder. He was never a scorer. Hell, in college, he couldnt shoot 3's worth shyt. His game has elevated year by year, all while still expending mass energy/effort on the defensive side of the ball.

This is the same system and players that people like Hedu Turkoglu played in/with...did he end up being as good as Kawhi ?

What's with this narrative?

:heh:

Maybe that Kawhi has 51/47/88 shooting splits, while Melo is down at 42/35/84. Not to mention Melo committing 3 turnovers/game to Kawhi's 1 turnover/game.

Maybe that Kawhi also adds 2 steals and 1 block to those numbers, while Melo has half that.

Maybe that Kawhi's PER is 4th in the NBA at 27.5, while Melo is back in 40th place at 20.3

Maybe that Kawhi is one of the best defenders in the game, while Melo is average at best.

Maybe that Spurs have one of the best records in the league and are Finals contenders, while the Knicks have a losing record and aren't in playoff position.

Maybe that Kawhi just keeps looking like an MVP candidate against every other MVP candidate he faces.

Against Thunder
Kawhi: 13-22 for 32-8-0 (and 3 steals/2 blocks)
Durant: 6-19 for 22-6-0

Against Pacers
Kawhi: 10-19 for 24-6-5 (and 3 steals)
George: 1-14 for 7-7-6

Oh, and against Knicks?
Kawhi: 8-16 for 18-14-1 (and 2 steals/4 blocks!)
Melo: 4-17 for 19-7-2

Kawhi is flirting with a 50 40 90 season while being the best defender in basketball?

Is melo doing the same...?

:pachaha:

FG%, turnovers, steals, blocks, and PER: the "meaningless analytics" of the 2015 Melo stan.

Maybe Kawhi just took his soul?

Actually:

11/2: 24% against Kawhi
11/4: 33% against Lebron
11/6: 38%
11/8: 40%
11/10: 44%
11/11: 48%
11/13: 45%

Other than the Kawhi/Lebron games, those numbers look right in line with Melo's 42% season average.
