It's a quite good modernized adaptation of Othello. It got a weird release because of 9/11, so instead of being a hit like Romeo + Juliet, most people who saw it only saw it on TV like 3-4 years later. Hartnett could act, based on this, August, and Resurrecting the Champ. Phifer's last scene was searing.
