So all you gotta do is find a thick attractive female throw her ten thousand, have her shake her ass a bit and make seven million :whew:

You’re forgetting that you have to spend hundreds of thousands maybe even millions upfront to promote the artist. You have radio play, production, studio time, videos, sample clearing, wardrobe and travel Expenses, etc? That’s why the first deal is always heavily in the labels favor.

That’s what it say in the 3rd paragraph of OP’s post. ALL show and live performance money.

But should ANY show money be going to the label? That’s traditionally separate from the label.

That tradition is long gone. We’re deep into the 360 era. The era of people buying physicals is over and the touring money is a big part of the pie.

What’s artists doing biz with a major like 300 is keeping 100 percent of their show money?

Megan is not nipsey hussle. She had no brand, no merch sales boomin, wasn’t 10 years into making money for herself off her name. She did not “take the stairs”. You either handle your biz and retain your publishing, masters and everything else or you sell it for cheap because it aint worth shyt when you sold it anyway

I paid for an online service(not really worth it, honestly). I initially looked into her because I’m suspicious of celebrity ages, so I looked into her to verify her age. Her age seems to be correct but I also saw the record. I got the service because I wanted to look up neighbors, teachers, etc
what's it called bruh

@Booksnrain Look at the thread title change :damn::damn:
she only made 15k off all that...
who the f was her lawyer. I don't think this girl can read, f all the legalspeak... that's a blatant oversight
:damn:
Let's talk funding about this artist recovery start up - how much do you need? I got you.. I'll consider this an investment
:damn:
DAYUM! A billy streams!

Thinking about it, she probably didn’t have confidence in her ability to make it big just starting out. Sometime it beez like that. I hope this works out for her and she doesn’t get hurt or taken advantage of any further.

In the meantime...GURL! Lettuce gon head and LLC dat shyt. There’s hustles to be had!

This is the hot joke going around the coli right now but I don’t understand how going to college means you’re supposed to understand all the legal jargon written in the contract. It’s not like shes in school to be an entertainment lawyer.
I guess they are saying when you go to college you have to take time out and study and read things (more than someone off the street working at wal-mart) which feigns a level of common sense and intelligence a country bumpkin wouldn't have

she wouldnt have made it like this with out 300. Same for cardi and everyone else.

and because a high percentage of acts never recoup any of that and there is no risk involved for the artist.

does QC also do the bolded?

Megan's touring and live performances to be paid directly to 1501 Certified. She says the label is supposed to give her a proper accounting of what she's owed -- but claims what they've provided is incomplete, and "purposefully and deceptively vague."
idk I just know QC functions as a record label and as a managing firm. Migos are signed to Coach K and P while also being managed by them too ( a COI)

Russ out here looking smarter and smarter by the day :ehh:

Homeboy played the game the right way :ehh:

Keep flooding the streets with music, build a fanbase, build leverage :ehh:

I don’t believe all the shyt Russ be talking either cause no one heard his name on that level until he signed with Columbia. However Russ does write, produce, and engineer all his own music so his slice of the PIE is way bigger than most artist.

The biggest thing she lost from the record deal was her mother. blood sacrifices are real look at every big artist.

@Tommy Lee Jones what blood sacrifices were these big artists involved with? What loved ones did they lose via blood sacrifice?

Michael Jackson

Beyonce

Frank Sinatra

Nat King Cole

Elvis Presley

Bing Crosby

Barbra Streisand

Madonna

Elton John

Billy Joel

Garth Brooks

Stevie Wonder

Mariah Carey

@NinoBrown are blood sacrifices actually in the music business??
