We'd be in the kitchen and she'd be cooking for us and my girl at the time would catch me zoned out locked in on it and get so mad

Don’t go OD on the first meet.

But if you’re going to their place for a meal or something, bring a bottle of wine or small flowers for the table. They’ll appreciate that and it’s more than enough.

If you’re meeting out in public and it’s the first time, no need to bring a gift.

If you plan on sticking around with this girl, you can bring a small gift for future meets or times - learn something about them then bring a small gesture that’ll remind them of something they told you.

But first meet is pretty low stakes, just be a gentleman and you win.
